For two weeks in November 2022, I visited Cisco Systems
Headquarters in Singapore for a job shadowing experience.
Through the job shadowing experience, I obtained greater
insight into working at a tech firm, as well as broadened my
knowledge about cybersecurity and other computing-related
knowledge. I also further developed my team-working and
creative thinking skills.
Singapore and Japan exchange
For the first week of the job shadow, my group was tasked
with creating slides to educate the Japanese exchange
students on one of Singapore's social issues. The Japanese
exchange students also shared some of their social issues
with us.
Account plan for SPF
For the second week of the job shadow, my group was tasked
with creating an account plan for one of Singapore's
government branches. My group chose the Singapore Police
Force. As the leader of the group, I had the opportunity to
develop my leadership skills and learn to better manage a
team. Exchange Slides Account Plan Slides
Discord.js
Discord bot 2020-2022
In June 2020, I discovered that I could code my own custom
discord bot. As such, I began my journey of learning
JavaScript to code a discord bot. During this journey, I
decided I was going to record
my learning
and try different smaller projects prior to coding a Discord
bot.
After securing knowledge of JavaScript, I decided to follow
tutorials online to kick-start my journey. In the beginning,
my progress was slow and I mostly relied on tutorials to
program the bot.
However, across the 2 years I spent on this project, I have
developed logic skills for creating things like commands.
Instead of solely relying on online tutorials, I have
learned how to create my own logic, debug my own code should
errors arise, and rely more on documentation to improve.

VIA 1
Helpping primary school students 2022
In 2022, my class visited our primary school to help out
with students who are part of the "After school childcare
program". Prior to the Values In Action (VIA), some planning
was done as a class with the class leadership committee to
decide on activities that could be carried out with the
children.
On the day of the VIA, my group and I hosted these
activities for the primary school students. The students
enjoyed themselves as we actively engaged with them.
From this experience, I learned how to work with a team well
in order to enrich the primary school students. In addition,
I learned how to simplify information such that young
children are able to understand. This skill can be applied
to the learning of new skills.

Cleaning up the beach 2023
In 2023, my class planned a VIA where we picked up trash
along the coast of Singapore.
On the day of the VIA, I participated actively, crouching
down along the beach to pick up trash, from big pieces of
styro-foam, to minute plastic graffiti. As time went on, my
classmates began to feel fatigued. Despite this, I displayed
grit and continued picking up trash whilst cheering on my
classmates to continue to do so as well.
While no particular lessons were learnt from this VIA, many
values were displayed. In my work, I am able to put in my
all, no matter how minute it may seem.
NSG
B-division 2022-2023
From 2022 to 2023, I was part of my co-curriculum activity
(CCA) National School Games (NSG) competitions. During
training, I displayed determination by putting all my focus
into improving; not only on the bowling lanes, but off of
them as well. I would spend time at home exercising to
improve my strength, so I will be able to use the bowling
techniques learnt to their fullest potential.
Ultimately, I was unable to qualify for the school team and
ended up as a reserve player for both years. Despite this
setback, I continued training as always in an attempt to
better myself. Instead of feeling down and despising my
teammates, I continued to cheer them on, displaying team
spirit, in hopes that my school can achieve a win.
Certificates and testimonials
"Willing to spend extra time after school to make up for his
weaknesses. Knowing that Chinese o level is coming soon and
Chinese is not his forte, he spends extra time to do
addition exam paper on the Chinese ten year series and
requests his Chinese teacher for addition lessons to go
through the exam papers he had complete."
